Flambeau Europe, part of the global Flambeau Inc., is enhancing its Ramsgate manufacturing facility after winning a major contract. The company will produce high-quality plastic case assemblies for Makita, a leading electric tool manufacturer. This contract has driven Flambeau to invest heavily in the future of plastic manufacturing technology, adding four new Haitian™ injection moulding machines, ranging from 100 to 750 tons, set for installation in summer 2024.
Enhanced Injection Moulding Capabilities
The new injection moulding machines will boost Flambeau’s injection moulding efficiency, increasing the production volume of plastic products. These machines will improve material handling and provide greater flexibility, ensuring the company meets the demands of both new and existing customers. To support this growth, Flambeau is also upgrading its material handling system with:
- New silos
- Material receiving units
- Drying systems
- Masterbatch dosing units
These improvements will optimise the material feed process, enhancing the speed and quality of plastic manufacturing.

The company uses DelmiaWorks by Dassault Systèmes SE, which enhances connectivity between the Ramsgate facility, Flambeau’s U.S. headquarters, and its other plants and sales offices worldwide. This system ensures real-time production monitoring, intelligent automation, and improved forecasting and planning.
WIFI-enabled injection and blow moulding presses, along with mobile tablets for staff, will provide real-time updates on production status. These technological advancements will significantly improve operational efficiency and productivity, enabling Flambeau to meet the growing demands of global supply chains while maintaining its competitive edge.
